Writer, Director, Producer: Paul Kampf
Paul Kampf has been developing and applying his craft for over 25 years as an actor, director, writer, producer and teacher with a focus on creating a bridge between training and professional experience. His talents were first honed in the theater where he was a founding member and Artistic Director of Breadline Theatre Group in Chicago. Under Paul’s guidance, the company produced thirty world-premiere plays, and created one of the most unique arts centers in the city. Most importantly, Paul built his work ethic, aesthetic and belief in the power of a cohesive team of like-minded artists. After directing the feature adaptation of his Joseph Jefferson nominated play American Gothic into the film Brothers Three, featuring the talents of Patrick Wilson and John Heard. Paul put his focus and passion into creating an important and necessary production/training studio in the heart of Hollywood. The success of this program has garnered awards and international recognition; including a virtual technique system used by actors from around the world. He has written/directed award winning micro-budget, short length, and feature films that have provided over 100 actors from his training programs on screen opportunities. As a Visiting Artist in Residence, he is now helping shape the MFA Acting program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Paul launched Equitas Entertainment Partners with Holly Levow and Tom Sperry in 2016. Equitas is a production/film company with the unique and necessary mission to close the gender pay gap, while empowering underserved voices. The company has produced Best Fake Friends and his latest feature as writer/director, Imprisoned starring Laurence Fishburne, Edward James Olmos, Juana Acosta, Juan Pablo Raba, Jon Huertas, and Esai Morales. Paul holds an M.F.A. in Acting from Illinois State University; a B.F.A. in Acting/Directing from the University of MN-Duluth; and a certificate in Playwriting from the famed Royal Court Theatre in London.
Producer: Holly Levow
Holly Levow, as an attorney and businesswoman (BS Mathematics, JD/MBA Santa Clara University), used to spend her days in high technology start-up companies in Silicon Valley wearing many different hats in fast-paced environments. After getting involved in venture philanthropy in 2007, Holly realized the power of giving back and further solidified her belief that we can all make an impact in this world one small step at a time. Currently, she spends her time between three social impact arms: (1) Foundation, a retail boutique that gives back 100% of proceeds to non-profit organizations each quarter, (2) Equitas Entertainment Partners, a film production company that produces compelling projects that provide opportunities for the underserved in the film industry, while also helping to promote equality in pay and female leadership and lastly, (3) angel investing in efforts that support underrepresented or marginalized individuals with an emphasis on women. Her current investments include Backstage Capital, a VC firm funding underrepresented female and LGBTQ startups, and the XXcelerate Fund which supporters female entrepreneurs by providing access to the debt financing, and the financial education, mentorship, and peer support necessary to scale efficiently and profitably. Holly’s standpoint as an investor is to support the vision of shakings things up in any industry where there is a grave contrast between the ready pool of underserved talent vs. the opportunities that are made available for them. Her investing activity is no different to how she sees Foundation and her work with Equitas. The golden thread with all of her endeavors is that they represent a desire to swiftly (and radically) change some of the most influential industries by making them more equitable, inclusive and representative of society.
